Eleanor S. Derhalli, 48
Eleanor Strange “Ellie” Crane Derhalli, 48, of 809 Vine St., WL, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 10, 1957, in Madison, Wis., to Frederick L. Crane and the late Helen Eggerth Crane, she graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1975, received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Purdue University in 1987.
She was married in 1994. Later divorced.
She was a self-employed artist specializing in photography, painting and textiles. She was briefly employed with the National Park Service photographing railroad relics in Pennsylvania.
She was a member of Photo Womyn, a group of female photographers. She exhibited photographs at the Greater Lafayette Art Museum, The Wells Cultural Center and the Governor’s mansion in Indianapolis.
She enjoyed jazz music, cooking and, in her earlier years, traveling to Thailand, Australia, Europe and Scandinavia, and hiking, camping and dancing.
Surviving are her father and stepmother, Marilyn Crane, of Metamora, IIl.; a brother, Richard T. Crane (wife: Sherry) of Eau Claire, Wis.; and a sister, Katherine C. Teske (husband: James) of Dayton, Ohio.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Brian Teske of Indianapolis, Eric Teske, Karin Teske of Dayton, Ohio, Kevin Crane, Ryan Crane, Chelsea Crane of Eau Claire, Wis. A brother, Thomas Loring Crane, preceded in death.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. A gathering will follow at Capp and Gino’s Wine and Cheese Salon.
