John Jarrell Obituary
John "Jack" Arnal Jarrell
November 7, 1944 - November 18, 2023
Beloved father, devoted friend, brilliant innovator, and accomplished engineer John "Jack" Arnal Jarrell passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 18, 2023, at the age of 79. Jack was born on November 7, 1944, in Lafayette, Ind., to John E. Jarrell and Marjorie J. Jarrell. He graduated from West Lafayette High School and went on to receive his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell. While at Cornell, he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and a dormitory resident advisor. He then went to Stanford, where he received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.
Jack's professional and personal accomplishments are almost innumerable. He was the Vice President of Special Projects at Victoria Station, a successful chain of railroad-themed steakhouses with his good friend, Bob Freeman. He then went on to be an integral part of Pacific Union and its various partnerships with close friends Peter Stocker and Tom Callanan. Additionally, Jack proudly held seven patents of various capacities that he hoped would make the world safer and more efficient. Of all these extraordinary accomplishments, Jack would say that his most outstanding achievement was being a dad to his two children. Jack is survived by his sister, Jane Jarrell Mallet; his son, Jake; and daughter, Madison. A Celebration of Life will be held in late spring or early summer; more details to come.
