Jeff Teske
Jeffrey Michael Teske passed away peacefully on July 17, 2023 in Wilmette, Illinois, surrounded by his wife and three daughters.
Jeff was born on December 10, 1955 to parents Mike and Gloria Teske in Minneapolis, MN. He later moved to Madison, WI and then on to West Lafayette, IN with his family. After graduating from West Lafayette High School, he went on to receive an undergraduate degree in History and a JD Cum Laude at, as he would say, “The” Indiana University.
He met his best friend and love of his life, Carol, in West Lafayette and they began dating in college. Jeff and Carol were married in 1983 and moved to Chicago. Together, they proudly raised three daughters: Anna, Krista, and Lauren in Evanston, IL.
Jeff was a life-long learner and was always an advocate for others. He had a strong work ethic and spent his career as a health care attorney in various settings including private practice, The American Hospital Association, and Advocate Health. He also served on several health-related boards and as an adjunct professor of law at Loyola University.
He was a deeply dedicated and loving husband, father, and friend whose enthusiasm and genuine interest in all things attracted incredible people to his life. He was a passionate sports fan, enjoyed being outside, and was always up for a good time, a cold beer, and a friendly wager.
His unexpected battle with Young Onset Alzheimer’s Disease was a long one, faced bravely and with grace. Even as his disease progressed, Jeff still managed to make countless new friends and kept his signature kindness and loving smile. He never missed an opportunity to shake a hand.
Jeff is survived by his wife, two brothers, three daughters and their husbands, and three young grandsons.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:00am followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 noon at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 524 Ninth Street, Wilmette, IL 60091.
