Peter, known to his family and friends as “Jerry” or “Big Jer” passed away on April 25th, 2021 from natural causes surrounded by family at Denver Hospice.
Jerry was a kind, fun loving man that built many friendships and adored his family.
He and his wife of 53 years, Susan spent their winters in Florida and that gave him a chance to enjoy his love of the ocean.
Jerry Buche was born on May 26th, 1940. He arrived minutes before his twin brother and best friend Paul Thomas. The twins were the sons of Elizabeth and John Buche and grew up in Indiana with 3 other siblings, John, Ann and their younger sister Barbara.

After graduation he went to Officers’ Training School for the US Navy and was an officer at the Naval Station in Newport Rhode Island. It was in Newport where he met his wife and lifelong partner Susan. Jerry took a job with Johns Manville after the Navy and they sent he and Susan to Chicago and eventually Denver. While in Chicago, he earned an M.B.A at Loyola University.
Jerry had the gift of gab and loved interacting with people. He eventually joined his twin brother Tom in business and they built a company that sold HVAC and plumbing products in the Rocky Mountain states.
Jerry and Susan settled in Greenwood Village for 30 years where they raised their children, Caroline and Peter. His 5 granddaughters, Ava, Amelia, Analissa, Chloe and Maria, were all so special to him. A consummate family man he always put his family first and thrived on building strong friendships.
He gave time as a volunteer and was frequently the first to step up when someone needed help. Jerry enjoyed a good card game, he was a voracious reader of history and a friend to many.
