Mary McDill
Lafayette - Mary E. McDill, 91, of Lafayette passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Healthcare.
She was born November 1, 1927 in West Lafayette, to the late Ernest Lake and Ida (Stephenson) Lake. She was a 1947 graduate of West Lafayette High School. On June 7, 1950 she married Robert McDill in West Lafayette and he survives.
Mary was an active member of First Christian Church. She was a former Worthy Matron at Buck Creek and current member of Hope Chapter OES and Amaranth. She enjoyed arts and crafts, puzzles, traveling and listening to music. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Surviving along with her husband are her son Steven McDill of Lafayette and beloved dog Gizmo; sibilings: Eva Dahl of Indianapolis, Alice Hill of Anderson and Ernestine (Howard) Gadberry of Arkansas. She is also survived by her two grandchildren: Michelle (Jonathan) and Ruby (Casey) McDill both of Lafayette and three great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jonny, Emma, and one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Arther and grandson Robert McDill.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Hippensteel Funeral Home with visitation from 12:30 - 2:00pm. Pastor Brian Nelson will officiate service. Interment to follow at Isley Cemetery. Share memories and condolences online at www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com
