Ingrid Marianne Saile (nee Toebes)
58, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, in Vallejo, California.
She was born on February 28, 1959 in Boston, MA., the daughter of Gerrit Hendrik and Grieke Swagerman Toebes, and moved with her family to West Lafeytte, IN, that same year. Ingrid graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1976, and moved to California, where she became a woodsculptress.
In 1981 and 1982 she lived in West Lafayette, showing her woodcarving in Indianapolis at the Penrod Art Show, at the Round the Fountain Art Show in Lafayette and in several surrounding states. Ingrid enjoyed music, played guitar and wrote songs, singing and playing with family members and friends.
In the late 1990's she started working as a Home Health Caregiver. In 2012 she met a wonderful man, David Saile, and they were married in November 2014. They shared the love of music and art, and were involved in many art related activities together.
Ingrid made many friends during her life time and kept in touch with all of them. Two very special friends for life, Tonya Roberts and Crystal Lockwood will miss her very much.
Surviving with her husband Dave, are her mother, Grieke Toebes of West Lafayette; her brother Henry (Katrinka) Toebes of Indianapolis; her sister Helen Hard of Santa Rosa, California, and her sisterLinda (Jenny) of Joshua Tree, California. She is survived by her aunts Sonja Toebes and Els Swagerman, her uncle Jan Post, all of the Netherlands, as well as several Holland cousins. Also surviving is a nephew, Walter Toebes of Indianapolis, IN, a niece, Miranda Hard and her children A.J. and Genavie, of Quincy, California, and a niece, Yazmin Qaqundah, of Joshua Tree, California.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerrit H. Toebes and several aunts and uncles in the Netherlands, and a nephew, Colin Toebes of Indianapolis.
Family and friends met in Vallejo, California for a celebration of Ingrid's life.
