Patricia Annette (Morrison) Ribordy
passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Hospice Franciscan
Communities in Michigan City, IN.
Born on June 13, 1932 to Albert and Albertha (Golden) Morrison, Pat was born and grew up in West Lafayette, IN. She attended West Lafayette High School and Purdue University, later transferring to Ball State University where she obtained her degree in education. While at Purdue, she met the love of her life, Dean Ribordy. They were married on December 26, 1953, just before Dean's naval enlistment took him overseas. Pat joined Dean, who was stationed in the Philippines, and taught elementary school on the naval base.
After returning to Deans hometown of La Porte, IN, she helped manage the family dairy farm while raising their children. Their bond proved to be strong through 62 years of marriage which ended here on earth only recently with Dean's passing. Pat was a homemaker, foster-mother, and a substitute teacher. Her faith in God was carried out through her active involvement in Door Village United Methodist Church. Her favorite duties included work with children and missions. She loved her home when it was full of her children and grandchildren, gospel music, studying the Bible, worshipping in a full sanctuary of believers, and playing bridge with friends. She will be remembered for her strong determination, outgoing personality and devotion to her faith and family.
Pat is survived by her children: son Dale Ribordy and his wife Jan, son Dan Ribordy and his wife Pam, daughter Carolyn Eyrick and her husband Steve, son Don Ribordy and her grandchildren, Meagan (Marty) Fukuda, Leslie (Andy) Maher, Molly (Doug) Semla, Kara Ribordy, Bethany Eyrick and Becca Eyrick. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Jones, sister-in-law Diane Morrison, sister-in-law Phyllis (Jim) Ruff Woolsey and sister-in-law Lesta Ribordy as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
