Longtime Clinton County resident Daniel Bloodgood 56 who had recently moved back to West Lafayette, IN, passed away peacfully on June 11, 2015. He was born on October 20, 1958 in Lafayette, IN,to the late Donald A. Bloodgood and Jo Ann Rose Bloodgood. He graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1976, where he lettered in football, wrestling and Track and Field, and he earned his Eagle Scout badge.
While attending Purdue University, he was a member of the Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity, and graduated with a degree in Entomology. This degree fit perfectly with his love of nature and the outdoors. For those that knew him, he was always pointing out different birds, wildflowers and other signs of nature. He was a lifetime Falconer, he enjoyed hunting and fishing especially using his own homemade lures and flies. He was very active in wild prairie restoration activities throughout Tippecanoe and Clinton counties. He was also very aristic, with a love for drawing, as well as playing his banjo.
Preceding him in death was his father, Donald A. Bloodgood. He is survived by his daughter, Hilary R. Kotula (Alex) of Granger, IN, grandson Samuel L. Kotula, his mother, Jo Ann Bloodgood of West Lafayette, IN, Brother David (Sheila) Bloodgood of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, and sister, Elizabeth Bloodgood of Cataula, GA, as well as nephews Ryan and Patrick Bloodgood of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
A private burial at Rossville Cemetery is planned. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday June 17, 2015 from 1:30-2:30pm at Soller-Baker West Lafayette chapel 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette IN 47906, with a service to follow at 2:30pm.
