William E. Lang
William Edward Lang (Bill), age 72, of West Lafayette, suddenly passed away at his residence on December 23, 2013. Born on November 9, 1941, he was the son of William J. and Emily (Biegler) Lang. He was a graduate of West Lafayette High School and attended Indiana and Purdue universities. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961. Bill worked in shipping/logistics for UPS for 30 years.
Bill loved sports, was an excellent athlete and followed his favorite teams, particularly I.U. and Purdue. He enjoyed fishing and fitness, especially running. Even in declining health for the last few years he was faithful to his exercise regimen and took pride in staying as fit as he could be. He also loved his music, particularly "oldies from the fifties."
He is survived by his daughter, Alex Lang of Chicago, Illinois; his former wife, June Lang of San Carlos, California; and brothers, Jay Lang of Carmel, Indiana and George Lang of Roswell, Georgia.
