Richard V. Hadley, 51, died at 2:30 a. m. Tuesday, May 4, at his home at 2800 Holly Hill Drive.
Mr. Hadley was a senior mechanical engineer with the facilities planning department at Purdue University. He had worked at Purdue for the past 25 years.
Born Jan. 23, 1942, in Indianapolis, he lived in Lafayette most of his life. He graduated from Purdue in 1964 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He married Jane A. Needham on March 17, 1967, in Lafayette. She survives.
Mr. Hadley was a very active member in the Tippecanoe County Historical Association and also was active in the Boy Scouts and the Purdue University Bowling League.
Also surviving are two sons, Kelsey J. Hadley of Kentucky and Frederick N. Hadley of Indianapolis, and a daughter, Shanna I. Rice of Newport News, Va.

Friends may call 5-8 p. m. today at Soller-Baker Lafayette Funeral. Service 11 a.m. Friday in Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. Dr. Jack L. Snellgrove officiating, interment Rest Haven Memorial Park. A grandson survives. Memorial contributions to Tippecanoe County Historical Association Property Fund
