Janet (Woerner) Averett
JANET LYNN WOERNER AVERETT, born May 30, 1955 in Lafayette, Indiana, died March 2, 2003 in Humble, Texas. Janet attended elementary and high schools in West Lafayette, Indiana and went on to earn a BS degree with distinction from the Krannert School of Business at Purdue University, where she became a member of Phi Beta Kappa scholastic honorary fraternity. She also graduated Cum Laude with Doctorate in Jurisprudence from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis in 1981 and was admitted to the bar in the state of Ohio. In 1978 Janet married Stuart Averett. Janet devoted her life to her family, foregoing professional career. At the time of her passing, Janet was a member of the "Let It Bee" quilting bee and board member of the Kingwood Quilt Guild. She was also a member of the board of the Kingwood Orchestra Boosters. Mrs. Averett is survived by her husband, Stuart Averett of Kingwood; parents, Helen and Robert Woerner of West Lafayette, Indiana; daughter, Emily Grace; son, Aaron Reis; brothers, John Steven Woerner and his wife, Marsha of Bradenton, Florida, Brian Donald Woerner and his wife, Cathy of Blacksburg, Virginia and David Robert Woerner and his wife, Mary Ann of Nashville, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive guests from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Kingwood Funeral Home followed by a memorial service, celebrating Janet's life.
