Manny Escasa

 

Manuel J. S. "Manny" Escasa, 54, of Indianapolis, passed away at 8:10 am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

He was born November 27, 1960, in Manila, Philippines, to Magnifia "Annie" Santos Escasa of West Lafayette and the late Vicente Escasa.

Manny received his BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University and went on to serve as a Quality Engineer at Fuji Component Parts USA, Inc.

Manuel attended St. Thomas Aquinas Center and enjoyed volunteering for the Beach Grove Little League and Basketball programs coaching and keeping score, he was also an avid Purdue Fan.

Surviving along with his mother are four sisters, Dr. Letty Bravo of New York, Dr. Mary Anne E. Goseco (Dr. Celso) of FL, Jean Lam (Charles) of MA and Maria Teresa Escasa-Wiliams (Wayne) of West Lafayette, two brothers, Vicente Escasa Jr of West Lafayette and Edward Escasa (Taeko) of Indianapolis, ten nieces and nephews, JR Bravo (Jenny), Marlette Austria (Arden), Marilou Yap (Dann), Dr. Prudence Lam (Mike Goldstein), Paul and Rich Lam, Justin Ryan Williams, Tia, Rina and Christian Escasa, four great niece and nephews, Nash, Daphne, Benjamin and Brooklyn. As well as very close friends, Jeff, Jackie and Bryce Billington.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Soller-Baker West Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway W. West Lafayette, IN 47906. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, February 27th at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2224 Sacramento Dr. West Lafayette, IN 47906 with Fr. Patrick Baikauskas O.P. officiating. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute in Manuel's name to the American Cancer Society .
