Lauren was an honor roll and
standout student athlete at West Lafayette High School. She lettered in
Softball, Track and Volleyball. She played Volleyball for Circle City
Volleyball Club in Indianapolis where she competed nationally and also had been
on an international team competing in Beijing and Sydney. Lauren didn't know a
stranger, had a smile that would light up a room, and loved her family and
friends. She was strong willed, determined, ornery, loved to laugh, and left
behind a hole in our hearts that will never heal. Lauren swerved to miss an
animal on the road, over corrected, her SUV flipped and rolled and she died
instantly of massive head injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt, not speeding.
And as much as it hurts and I miss her so much, I wouldn't give up the 16
wonderful years I had with her for anything.
