NEW GLASGOW — Friday afternoon two person were killed instantly in a three car accident at Saltsprings, 16 miles east of here on the Trans-Canada Highway, and a third victim of the same accident died later in the Aberdeen Hospital.

Michael J. Woolan, 23, 325 Hollywood Drive, Lafayette, Indiana, U. S. A., and 26-year-old Elizabeth B. Ames of 35 Sparks St., Cambridge, Mass., U. S. A., both occupants of a 1965 Volkswagen died instantly when their car went out of control and skidded into the path of another vehicle near the overpass west of the Saltsprings Park.

Fifteen-year-old Helen Lois Tabor of Springhill, an occupant of the other car, died from injuries after she was admitted to the Aberdeen Hospital. Her father, John Tabor, is in hospital with head injuries, her mother is a patient with leg and head injuries and another daughter, 13-year-old Arlene suffered left leg injuries in the accident which occurred during heavy rain.

The third car bearing a Quebec license was operated by Jacques Beaulieu of Valleyfield, Quebec. He and a passenger escaped injury in the three-car pileup.

Eyewitnesses at the accident scene said the Volkswagen, heading east, went out of control and skidded into the Tabor operated car which was heading west. The 1967 Falcon driven by Beaulieu following the Chevrolet, collided with the two cars.

The RCMP are investigating the accident and say evidence found in the Volkswagen would indicate that Michael Woolan and Elizabeth Ames were just married and on their honeymoon.

This is the second triple fatality in the county this year. The first was on May 17 when the car in which they were occupants was struck by a train at a railway crossing on the Little Harbor Road.  The impact of the crash knocked the motor out of the smaller car. The Volkswagen rolled, ending up in the middle of the highway
