Elizabeth Anne Morse Coffman "Betty"

Elizabeth M. Coffman lost her courageous year-long battle with leukemia on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 3:45 A.M. at her home in Louisville, KY. She was a survivor of two previous battles with cancer and never gave up her positive attitude! She has now gone to join her Heavenly Father- - free of pain and discomfort.

She was born on June 25, 1946 in Norfolk, VA to Dr. Erskine V. Morse, DVM and Lucy H. Morse. She was a 1964 graduate of W. Lafayette High School in W. Lafayette, IN and graduated with her Bachelors' degree in 1968 from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. On June 22, 1968, she married Robert E. Coffman, "Bob", in W. Lafayette, IN. During their 44 years of marriage, they have had homes and raised their family in Virginia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Kentucky, where she still has family and many close friends today!

Betty most recently worked as a Teacher's Aid for the Anchorage Independent School Corporation in Anchorage, KY. She loved to travel, take cruise vacations and play bunko and bridge with her neighbors and friends. Her small flower garden and her 3 cats were her pride and joys!

She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Coffman; her three sons: Patrick D. Coffman and wife Jill of Cranberry Township, PA, Christopher E. Coffman and wife Holly of Charlotte, NC, and Kevin R. Coffman and wife Kristen of Murfreesboro, TN. She was the loving Grandma, "Nonny", to her six Coffman grandchildren: Savannah, Cassidy, Tyler, Lauren, Connor, and Caleb.

She is also survived by her three brothers: William Morse and wife Valarie of Cedarburg, WI and Thomas and William Morse and their wives and families. Other survivors are her sister-in-law, Florence Pogue and husband Dennis and their family.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

A memorial service will be held at the Ratterman Funeral Home (10600 Taylorsville Rd. Jeffersontown, KY) on Sat. 8/18/2012 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. The service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kokomo, IN, on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Care Society (12207 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY) or online to the American Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Donation envelopes will also be available at the Ratterman Funeral Home.
